Who we are

About Train Up a Leader

Train Up a Leader (TUL) is a non-profit youth development organization dedicated to equipping young people with leadership and life skills to drive meaningful change in their communities. Through strategic partnerships with learning institutions, we provide mentorship, training, and psychosocial support to prepare youth for leadership roles in schools and beyond.

We believe that leadership is a skill that can be nurtured—and by investing in young leaders today, we are shaping the future of Uganda and Africa as a whole.

Our Programs

We partner with learning institutions in Uganda to deliver a world-class leadership and life skills development program in and out of school to prepare young people for community development.

Leadership Program

We deliver a transformative one-year leadership training and mentorship program specifically designed for student leaders.

Life skills development

 This program is designed to directly enhance the personal development, career advancement, and mental well-being of learners. 

Fellowship

Our graduates can join our fellowship program, where they receive additional mentoring for their community projects

Intervention

We train, mentor, coach and counsel young people and avail them the opportunity to actively contribute to the world .

Sustainability

We partner with schools to deliver and test a scalable model that can significantly impact education in the short term.

Evaluation

Implementing an in-school program allows us to understand school systems. and work within them to create a lasting Impact

Currently, we are implementing the program in 15 schools in the central region, with plans to expand to over 100 schools in other regions by 2035

Since 2022, we have positively impacted over 20,000 students annually, both directly and indirectly.
